Why the Gorbals?
As a place-based music project, the majority of people who attend our sessions live, work or have a strong connection with the Gorbals, Glasgow. Therefore, we usually ask for people's post codes when joining our sessions.
If I don't live in the Gobrals, can I still join in?
We do welcome some people who live outwith the Gorbals to take part in our groups. These are usually people who demonstrate that they face one or more barriers to accessing music based activity. This could be anything from health, financial, lack of resources and many more. If you don't live in the Gerbils but would like to attend our sessions we usually ask a few simple questions to see if you fit into this category and will look to see if there is space in the session.
Can I borrow a guitar to take part?
We want to make sure you have all the resources you need to take part in our sessions. When you first join one of our guitar groups, we will endeavour to give you a guitar that you can take home to practice with in-between sessions. After 6 months we will check in with you to see how we can support you to et your own guitar.
This might be by signing up with ur partners Music Broth who run a musical instrument library, helping you to find an affordable second hand guitar or setting up a manageable pay as you go agreement with us.
If you are able to afford to buy a guitar for yourself or your child we would encourage you do so as that allows us to lend out guitars for people who really need them.
