ABOUT

Our Activities

Each week we run music sessions for folks aged 9 - 99. All sessions are free on the point of entry, held in accessible venues and we provide all the equipment you need to take part. Click on the images below to find out more about our Youth Music, Adult Music and Creative Ageing sessions.

Hire us!

By hiring us you are supporting our mission to connect people through music in the Gorbals. The income we generate from these services goes straight into funding our music sessions, buying equipment, connecting people to professional musicians, renting out space and much more.

If you would like to enquire further about the services listed below contact us using the form below.

 Safe Spaces Commitment

Givin' it Laldie (GiL) are committed to co-creating a sense of safety, respect and acceptance for our current and potential staff, volunteers, participants, community members and partners irrespective of their age, disability, neuro-divergence, cultural identity, ethnicity, gender, marital status, caregiving responsibilities, religion, sexual orientation, class or socio-economic status.

Everyone who is a part of our community is responsible for contributing towards making it a safe space. Participants, partners, staff, volunteers and event attendees will be expected to adhere to the following commitments:

Listen to, respect and accept each other.

Respect each other's limits, boundaries and confidentiality.

Think about the impact of our words, assumptions and actions upon others.

Speak respectfully of others, even when they aren't present.

Celebrate differences, be curious about others and learn from them.

Do not engage in any form of discrimination, bullying or harassment of others.

Do not attend sessions, events or meetings under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

If I feel that someone has broken these commitments what can I do?

GiL staff will take any breach of these commitments seriously, and you can expect discretion and tact when speaking to us about any incidents you have concern about.

If you feel able to do so, carefully speak to the person who has broken these commitments to explain what has happened. We do not expect you to put yourself in an uncomfortable or risky situation so please exercise your own judgement about what feels safest for you.

If you do not feel able to speak to them directly, you can speak to one of the GiL staff who will take steps to resolve this situation appropriately.

Remember, if your concern is about a GiL volunteer or member of staff please speak to another member of staff. Everyone is expected to adhere to these commitments and there should always be someone to report to.

Keep in touch!
